White Shark Africa was founded in 1995 and has been running successfully ever since. The company has always had a great passion and love for the sharks and has often supported and assisted shark research in the area. Situated halfway between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, beautiful Mossel Bay has abundant sea life with diverse fish, seals, whales, penguins, other sea birds, dolphins, the occasional orca and, of course, a plentiful supply of Great White Sharks.

The company is co-owned by Craig Ferreira and Christo Kruger. Craig is one of the world’s leading authorities on Great White Sharks, has conducted many research world firsts, has appeared in numerous documentaries, has published two books on the Great White Shark and speaks on this species around the world. Craig, along with his father Theo, pioneered most of the early research work on White Sharks in South Africa. Through this important work, Theo, together with Scientist Leonard Campagno, was instrumental and the driving force behind South Africa becoming the first country in the world to secure full protection status for the Great White Shark in 1991.

Christo is a top shark handler, an avid marine conservationist, a very experienced skipper and he spearheads the operation in Mossel Bay.

It has always been apparent to us that most, if not all of our clients suffer a total misconception of sharks, and in particular the GREAT WHITE SHARK.
Most of our clients arrive with a 90% fear level and 10% respect, and we thrive in changing this attitude. We are sure that after a day at sea with us you will find that old attitudes are reversed and you will leave us with 90% respect and 10% fear and perhaps understand that the sea is the domain of the GREAT WHITE and we have no right to harm this magnificent predator(or any other for that matter).

Our Boat
Our Boat, “Shark Warrior,” is a modern 11.5m long and 4m wide motor cat custom-built for shark cage diving. The boat has a large viewing platform on top, space on the main deck for seating and viewing and is equipped with toilet facilities in the main cabin. Our Diving and Viewing trips are wonderfully educational, enriching both mind and soul. As the only White Shark operation along the Garden Route, we’re afforded the advantage of seals being our only competition for the shark’s attention.

Historically, we have an 84% annual average rate of successful shark viewing and diving.
